The department of Zoology was established in the year 2008 and post graduate programe was started in 2020. The journey from a small department, teaching 16 undergraduate students in 2008 to 180 UG, 45 PG students. The department strives to promote all round development of the students through various academic and co- curricular activities. The primary objective of the department is to impart quality education in the subject of Zoology .We organized competition for clay making for student to encourage about animals. Applied Zoology knowledge paves way for self employment through opportunities in Vermi-culture, Sericulture. So we started Value added course in vermiculture in 2021and also we are going to start sericulture in 2022. Time to time seminars /workshops was also organized by the department.
The life lines of the department are; well-equipped spacious UG,PG laboratory with important equipment’s. qualified and good teachers and dedicated supporting staffs. In order to enhance teaching learning process regular seminar, We use LCD and slide projector to make the classroom teaching more interactive. Students participate in group discussions to equip themselves with advanced knowledge and skills.
Department has successfully run NSS wing at 2014-15 and 2015-16 and oragnised two special camp for students. Department has actively contributed in organizing National Seminar on “ Environment: It’s Issues” on Dec. 2, 2015 at the college as Organising Secretary.
