Distinctive Feature of the College

As an oldest institution in Masturi region the Government Pataleshwar College, Masturi, Bilaspur is primarily known as Government College Masturi that was established in 1988. The UGC accorded it recognition under section 2 (f) & 12 (B) on 18th February, 1998 and 22nd June 1998 respectively. Earlier this institution was affiliated to Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur from 1988 to 2012, then Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur has been upgraded as Central University and presently the college is affiliated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, Bilaspur a newly established university of Chhattisgarh state. The College devoted to meet the needs of higher education in masturi region to provide a balanced holistic education to students. The prime aim of the college is to propagate knowledge to the student in the socially and economically challenged area. In spite of the fact that most of the students are admitted here belong to the economically backward classes of the society residing in rural and the most backward region of the state. Keeping this in mind every effort is being made to develop our student into deserving citizens ready to serve the society and nation in every walk of life. At present the college has 12 departments at the UG level and 06 departments conducting Post graduate Education. Besides these courses of DCA and PGDCA courses are also provided for bright carrier of the students and 03 departments doing commendable job in research .In view of examination pattern the courses are conducting under annual systems at UG level and semester system at PG level. In present session (2019-20) the student strength is around 1000 .

Our Vision: The Vision of the College is to serve the social needs and to uplift the living standards of the rural youths by imparting higher education adhering not only to local area but also national standards of education and fostering an enduring sense of discipline.We wishthatthe students of this college should be knowledgeable, polite, conscientious, physically and mentally healthy, practically efficient, self‐motivate, well‐adjust morally strong, and well integrated, so that they can perform their role in best way and are acceptable members of society. The vision is displayed in the college entrance and also communicated through college magazine.

- To strive towards intellectual, moral and cultural development of the students inculcating moral values, discipline and dedication to work into them.
- The display of vision Statement and Mission statement at the entrance helps the stakeholders identify the goal and objectives of the college.
The activities planned and conducted by the students under various banners also serve in spreading the mission and vision of the college.

- To empower the common rural students through quality education to meet the global challenges at the lowest cost.
- To inculcate discipline among the students, moral instruction classes and workshops have been arranged.
- To provide academic excellence among students, the performance of each student is identified and taken care.
- To motivate the Student’s participations in seminars, conferences and excursion are encouraged to develop their hidden skills.
- The vision, mission and objectives of the institution are well informed to the students, staff through the displays, magazine & admission forms.
