HISTORY OF DEPARTMENT
This college was established in the session 1998. Till 2008, the subject of sociology is taught in the classroom at UG level. In the Session 2008 , the classes of PG was started at the government level. At present about 400 students are studying at the under graduation level. In post graduate classes, the number of admissions in 20 seats as decided by the government completes. This subject is popular among the students in the region because the students have to compete in competitive examinations. Before 2008, only one post of Assistant Professor was approved in the department. After the start of post graduate classes, the Posts of two assistant professors were approved in the department .There is a research centre on sociology subject in session 2016 by Atal Bihari Vajpayee University Bilaspur. At present two students are doing research in this research centre under the subject.
